Patsy Burns secretary treasurer having more difficulty with her hlgh heels than with her difficult to balance cap David Crockett business manager is lending invaluable a1d CLASS CDF 51 Way way back in September of 1945 the potential Class of 51 entered the hallowed halls of Worthington Hlgh School for the first t1me Amidst the chaos and con fusion we found our lockers bought shining new padlocks and set off to conquer our 1ns1gn1f1cance The eighth grade found us d1l1gently rehearsing the operetta Tom Sawyer which was presented early in the spring About this time we decided to broaden our social life so we borrowed our big slsters l1pst1ck and our big brothers bow tie and bravely ventured into the social wh1rl of WH S It was durmg our Freshman year that the New Look was born The glrls in keeping with the fashion trend donned ballerma skirts and Glbson Girl blouses much to the dismay of the boys who disapprovlngly eyed the declining hemline As sophomores we were on equal basis with the upper classmen and official members of the Semor Hlgh at last Silas Marners miserlmess and the Romans kept us busy durmg school hours This was the year Worthington traveled to the Reglonal Basketball Tournament only to be beaten by a mere two points in the finals With our Junior year came our first real opportumty to be actors and actresses and our class play Dear Ruth was an encouraging triumph After that we put our heads together and dreamed up a fantastical Candyland with peppermint sticks and lolllpops as our prom theme Dressed 1n frilly formals and tuxes we danced to the dreamy music of Amby Meyer and hurnmed our theme song Candy and Cake for a long time afterward And then we were semors' So once again we entered the portals of WH S and this time for the last Remem ber the satisfying feeling those frequent glances at our brlght new class rings gave us? Yes it was wonderful to know we had come this far Our magazine sales drlve to finance the 51 Trojan. the competition in salesmanshxp the steak dinners as a reward the pheasant banquet Ca dinner at the Waldorf couldnt have been betterlb these w1ll be remembered Cyril Henseler vice presldent Bonita Rarick Student Council representative' and Dick Boud- reau president are examining the lighting and sound effects con- trol panel to be used for dramatic productions, The panel was pre- sented to the school as a gift from the Class of 1951.
