' o N 1 D E C L A M About twenty students participated in the declamatory contest which was held in January for the purpose of selecting the con- testants for the sub-district meet. Representing Worthington in this contest were Connie Hoffman from the dramatic division, Betty Bray from the humorous, and Payson Wolff from the oratory. Payson Wolff and Betty Bray, winning first place in their divisions, entered the district contest held at Luverne. 'Wolff received first honors in this contest, the regional at Truman, and in the state contest at Minneapolis. His delivery of Professor Anonymous, M. S., Ph. D., was awarded first place by the unanimous decision of the five judges. This was the first time in the history of the state that any contestant was given such a high ranking.
