W.H.S. moves in new direction . Important traditions were also broken during the year From the beginning, the 1986-87 school year was full of changes The en- tire organization of the high school was changed, just days before the start of school. The former east and west oftices became the pupil personnel office and the business and attendance office All the room numbers were also changed. Unfortunately, the room numbers on the schedules were not changed; thus, the first few days were quite confusing. A brand new bell schedule went into ef- fect, too. First period began at 7:00 am for the hardy few who wanted to at- tend classes that early, while the major- ity of students began school at 8:00 am. (or second period.) This year all classes were the same length. 54 minutes Therefore, school ended at 2:54, a full eleven minutes earlier than the previous year's dismisal Another change enacted at the star of school concerned the no food in th halls rule. Students were again allower to munch goodies between classes Tht no walkmans rule was also abolishec Because of the large number of studen drivers and limited parking area, sopho mores were not permitted to buy park ing permits.
