CLASS PROPHECY fcontinuedy We landed at Lambert Field in St. Louis and decided to see the first game of the world series. We were surprised to see one of our best baseball players, PAUL DEAN NICKELL, pitching a great game for the Cards. After the game we asked him what he had been doing for the past ten years. He told us that he spent four years at Erskin. There, one of the Minor League managers found him. The manager of the Cardinals was impressed by his talent and signed him up. Last year he pitched a no-hit season and because of this, he is known as a second Paul Dean. After leaving the ball park, we decided to look up CAROL ANN SCHARF, who is now one of the leading dance instructors. Recently she taught Arthur Murray a new type of hula-hula, which she learned from the natives of Africa, while on her honeymoon with Cookie. Since she realizes that she's not getting any younger, she has stopped teaching dancing and has settled down to a quiet home life. Although we were very surprised at Carol's career, we are glad that she leads such a happy life. The next person on our list is GEORGE THOMASACOOK. When his father retired, George took over the small nursery business and has made a quick rise in the botanical world. He is now a nationally known authority on everything that is 'green and growing. As for RALPH BLOTEVOGEL, surely you have read his amazing story in the papers. He is rais- ing chickens, not just common ordinary chickens: as a matter of fact, they're the best dis- covery since the shmoos. When we asked Ralph how he ever discovered such chickens, he said that it wasn't the type of chickens, just the special chicken feed he gave them. He re- fused to tell us what was so special about it, and in his quiet unassuming sort of way, assured us that anyone could have stumbled on his formula. We come to CARL EUGENE ASHAUER who left in February of '52 with the 44th Division of the National Guard. He is now a colonel and is a veteran of the Korean War. Because of his bravery he has been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
