611155 Prophecy The time is now 1962. We decided to look up all of our old classmates and find out how they have spent the last ten years. We thought that you would probably like to know what they have been doing, too, so we board our plane and are off to faraway places. As we traveled down Route 4, we met JIM BIRMINGHAM coming toward us on his scooter. When we landed and asked him where he'd been he told us he had just returned from a national convention of the Boy Scouts of America. He is now the national leader of the Boy Scouts. He has worked hard to attain this position and traveled all over the United States on his scooter visiting boy scouts from different states. We landed in New York and visited Carnegie Hall. There to our surprise we happened to see JUNE SLATON, who is now singing with the Metropolitan Opera. June, the mother of ten children still takes them with her. June is now a red head because gray hair simply does not become opera singers. Since Maggie Truman has married at last, June has taken over all her appointments and excepting her red hair, people can hardly tell the difference. Just as we were about to board our plane for Alaska, we saw SALLY SCHNEIDER, who has just returned from a tour of Europe. While talking to her, we discovered that although she always had the desire to travel this wasn't entirely a pleasure trip. She went to study the latest fash- ions. Sally started her modeling career soon after leaving high school, and now she owns a prosperous modeling agency of her own. Of course there's a man in her life. She has married one of the leading French designers and they live in a beautiful apartment in New York City. This afternoon when our plane landed in Alaska, to refuel, we decided to have a look around. As we walked down the street in Iuno, we came upon a beautiful ranch type home built by Mr. Ted Hoppe and who did we see in the snow in front of it but PATSY BOYLES HANVEY all dress- ed up in fur from head to foot. We are happy to see that Patsy has fulfilled her life-long de- sire to live in Alaska. After returning from Alaska. we stopped in San Diego to see BILLY CHARLES MAEDGE, who has now succeeded Admiral Nimitz as Fleet Admiral of the United States Navy. Billy started his naval career as a member of the active reserves in the summer of '51. He says that he has worked hard, but he feels that all his efforts were not in vain, and we know that they weren't because he is now married to a beautiful Wave.

CLASS PROPHECY fcontinuedy We landed at Lambert Field in St. Louis and decided to see the first game of the world series. We were surprised to see one of our best baseball players, PAUL DEAN NICKELL, pitching a great game for the Cards. After the game we asked him what he had been doing for the past ten years. He told us that he spent four years at Erskin. There, one of the Minor League managers found him. The manager of the Cardinals was impressed by his talent and signed him up. Last year he pitched a no-hit season and because of this, he is known as a second Paul Dean. After leaving the ball park, we decided to look up CAROL ANN SCHARF, who is now one of the leading dance instructors. Recently she taught Arthur Murray a new type of hula-hula, which she learned from the natives of Africa, while on her honeymoon with Cookie. Since she realizes that she's not getting any younger, she has stopped teaching dancing and has settled down to a quiet home life. Although we were very surprised at Carol's career, we are glad that she leads such a happy life. The next person on our list is GEORGE THOMASACOOK. When his father retired, George took over the small nursery business and has made a quick rise in the botanical world. He is now a nationally known authority on everything that is 'green and growing. As for RALPH BLOTEVOGEL, surely you have read his amazing story in the papers. He is rais- ing chickens, not just common ordinary chickens: as a matter of fact, they're the best dis- covery since the shmoos. When we asked Ralph how he ever discovered such chickens, he said that it wasn't the type of chickens, just the special chicken feed he gave them. He re- fused to tell us what was so special about it, and in his quiet unassuming sort of way, assured us that anyone could have stumbled on his formula. We come to CARL EUGENE ASHAUER who left in February of '52 with the 44th Division of the National Guard. He is now a colonel and is a veteran of the Korean War. Because of his bravery he has been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
