CAPT J. F. FROST III, USN JULY 1975 - SEPTEMBER 1977 CAPTAIN FROST CAME TO WORDEN FROM DUTY WITH NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND IN WASHINGTON, D.C. HE DETACHED FROM WORDEN IN SEPTEMBER 1977 FOR DUTY WITH THE OPERATIONAL TEST AND EVALUATION FORCE, NORFOLK, VIRGINIA. CAPTAIN FROST IS A NATIVE OF NORFOLK, VIRGINIA, AND JOINED THE NAVY THERE IN 1947. ENTERING THE NAVAL ACADEMY IN 1949, HE WAS COMMISSIONED ENSIGN IN 1953. SINCE THAT TIME HIS SHIPBOARD ASSIGNMENTS HAVE INCLUDED CIC AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER OF USS BARTON IDD-7221, COMMANDER LCU DIVISION 23, WEAPONS OFFICER OF USS HIGBEE IDDR-8061, THE COMMISSIONING EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE USS GOLDSBOROUGH IDDG-211, AND COMMANDING OFFICER, USS BERKELEY IDDG-151. CAPTAIN FROST HOLDS MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREES IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS. HE ALSO QUALIFIED AS ENGINEERING WATCH OFFICER AT THE NUCLEAR POWER TRAINING SCHOOL, BAINBRIDGE, MARYLAND. PERSONAL AWARDS INCLUDE THE BRONZE STAR AND VIETNAM NAVY DISTINGUISHED SERVICE ORDER.
