“
President’s Address Undoubtedly great issues fajce our country and will increase throughout the world with its future problems. We hope that the training and inspiration you received at State College at Worcester will be sufficient to see you through any cri ses. We hope we have inspired you with optimism for the future because, if you become contaminated with pessimism, you will be unhappy and unsuccess- ful. Ever trust that the best will be found in the future. Human experience and history have shown that every cloud has a silver lin- ing. This should influence all of our thinking. We are our own worst enemies if we allow ourselves to become discouraged. You must remember the human race is always moving upward and never downward. Although there are temporary setbacks, the world is constantly be- coming a better place in which to live. We are now in the process of rephrasing our beliefs in certain fundamental freedoms. We are attempting to formulate our thinking so that the rights of one individual will not interfere with the rights of another individual. You will see this problem solved during your lifetime. You may have a chance to help in its solution. At this time we are in the beginning of an ecumenical movement. The human race will gain tremendous advantages as this movement grows. Many of you will work in the movement and benefit by all that you will experience in it. You must keep preparing yourself so that you will be able to help in the successful culmination of many of our present day movements. Recognition of issues as they occur and the desire to work in community service will help to give you a happy life. Tomorrow will belong only to those who will be pre- pared to grasp it. I wish you a long and successful career. Eugene A. Sullivan 7 Harold L.
