HE AFTERMATH, as published by the graduating class of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, for the past few years, has become so firmly established as a classical department of literature, that we believe it needs no explanation or apology for its existence. We have tried to combine in this, the Aftermath of ’1)7, the elements of College Annual, and of Class Book. Naturally, it is expected and, indeed, intended that this volume should be of chief interest to the Class of d)7 ; but it is also hoped that those so unfortunate as not to be members of this class, may have their lives made less dreary by finding here something to amuse or interest them. We have striven to avoid any so-called humor, which in any way approache s the comic valentine variety. If any “grind” contained within the covers of this book, seems to hit a little too hard, we trust that it will be taken, as it was intended,—merely as a good-natured “jolly,” without malice or thought of offense.
