HNMEMORHA DONALD J.. FLYNN 50? DIED JULY 26. 1954 Teacher ali' llffnglliislln, Donald J. Flynn was assigned to the position of teacher of English at the High School of Commerce on September l, l947, after teaching the same subject at South High School for a period of three years. He possessed a union of mildness and firmness. He realized that all students have not the same character and temperament and that relative mildness with some would be severity with others. Because at his generally amiable disposition, Mr. Flynn will long be remembered by teachers and students at Commerce High School. MATTHEW' R. MCCANN 50? DIED NOVEMBER 24. 1954 Teacher all lpllnysiics, Matthew R. McCann, who retired in June, l954, after forty-one years as a teacher of physics at Commerce, died November 24 in St. Vincent Hospital after a short illness. A scholarly man, Mr. McCann was diligent and thorough in his teaching. His sincerity and his kindness endeared him to both students and faculty. He was, in every sense of the word, a gentleman. lELlE,ANOR M. MURRAY SO? Those of us who had Miss Murray in class will long remember her gracious manner and her ever readiness to help us. We, the members of the Editorial Board of the 1955 CADUCEUS, ioin with our fellow students and the faculty in recording our sorrow and deep sense of loss.
