MEMORIES LIGHT THE CORNERS OF MY MIND” The Woonsocket Redmen Homecoming days began on September 23, 1977. The week started with sock day which led to dress-up day followed by a Fifties day, and then Red and White day. Thursday school was dismissed early to work on the floats. Coronation of Princess Elaine Kempf and Chief Brad Selland started at 7:00. The attendants were Paula Senska, Jeff Tiede, Gail Sonne, and Brett Selland. The burning of the W and pep rally ended the evening. Friday there was no school so floats could be finished. The parade started at 12:30 and the sophomore float Blast Away the Blue Jays took first place. Excitement ran high when Woonsocket scored its victory over Hitchcock 60-0. After the game was the Homecoming dance with Faded Blue. Homecoming week concluded with the alumni banquet and dance. The tradition of Homecoming has been a skit put on by the Junior class. This year the skit was The Gong Show . In the photo above Scott Stryker played as Paul Newman; Lori Maakestad, Raquel Welch; Kurt Krueger, Farrah Fawcett-Majors, and Susan Kluksdahl did her routine of Tiny Tim. 5
