Homecoming 1972 began with the beat of the tom-tom on the night of September 21. This was the time that the Class of '73 had waited for since the beginning of their high school days. It was THEIR candidates up for the honor of Chief and Princess of Ki-Yi days. The seniors chose Judy Andersen, Donna Knigge, Jody Crassel, Dan Hinder, Gary Jensen, and Bill Kilcoin as their royalty candidates. After entertainment by a group of girls from the WHS music department and a skit by the juniors, the big moment arrived. Cheif Dan Hinker and Princess Jody Crassel were chosen to reign over Homecoming 1972. Following the coronation the traditional bonfire and pep fest were held at the old ballpark. September 22 dawned - a hectic time - a time for last minute touch-ups on the floats, band prac- tice, no school. At one-thirty the WHS marching band led the parade down the streets of Woon- socket, with the seniors capturing first place honors with their float. That night, the mighty Redmen destroyed the Sunshine Bible Crusaders - 74 to 0 - on the gridiron to make it a perfect day. Homecoming 1972 had come and gone, but the Class of '73 will always remember when it was THEIR time to reign. 4
