The theme was Color My World. The banquet was held in the Catholic church basement. The Main course was Swiss Steak. Mr. Carmicheal, a past teacher at Wocmy, was a guest. He provided the entertainment. After the banquet, the juniors and seniors proceeded to the Armory for the Grand March. The multi-colored streamers, pulled together in the shape of diamonds and the silver colored balk set the mood for a romantic atmosphere. Music was provided by the Talismen. The dance was followed by parties or by going to drive-ins. A breakfast was served at Janet Swenson's House, after having a great evening to remember. They were very busy all year. The main event was the class play Eight Women and a Ghost . Mrs. Zimmerman and the girls put this on and they were a big success. Sioux Falls was the destination of the skip day bound Seniors again this year. They spent the day at the Solar Dome at the Holiday Inn. They swam, golfed, played ping-pong, pool, or just loafed. After tearing around all day, a party was held down at Twin Lakes. Pastor Carpenter officiated at the baccalaureate service on May 14 with the band playing the traditional Pomp and Circumstance for the Seniors march. On May 18, the Class of 72 took their final walk together as they filed past the crowd to receive their diplomas. Guest speaker was Dr. Bruce Crosswait. Dave Bockorny and Jeanne Meyer received the Dzie awards for maintaining the highest grade point average during the Senior year. Two received the awards, but they and 26 others have many awards in memories of four years together at WHS.
