Ijackeg The hockey team had many accomplishments it is exceptionally proud of, including: the best overall record of 24-4-1 in the history of the school; winning the National Division of The Call Classic Christmas Tournament; capturing the Met B Division title with 17 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie; being the runners-up of the Met B state championship title. Led by captains, Mike Landry, Marc Branchaud and Dan Rondeau, in addition to 4 other experienced seniors, the team quickly established as the team in contention for a division title. The individual recognition to our seniors include Marc Laramee — our consistent goaltender with the best goals against average in Met B. He was selected to the All Met B Division team. A Call All Star selection, everyone will remember his stellar performance in the playoffs. Captain Mike Landry — centered the highest goal production line in our division, selected to the All Division and Call All Star teams, the team's highest scorer who finished second in Met B with 45 points. Captain Marc Branchaud - the team's second highest scorer, selected to the All Division and Call All Star teams, led the league with most assists at 25. His gutsy performance in our state championship finals will never be forgotten. Captain Dan Rondeau - the third highest scorer with 28 points, participated in the coaches annual All Star game, last year's high scorer on the team. An excellent skater and adept stickhandler. Sean Croshaw — selected to the Call All Star team, the highest scorer in the playoffs (11 pts.), his consistent, hard-nosed, aggressive approach to the game was truly exemplary. Mike Desaulniers — participated in the coaches All Star game. A dedicated athlete who doubled up as a forward and defenseman, Mike will never forget scoring the game winner in the last minute of regulation play in tne semi-finals of playoffs. Mike Croteau — played wing on the most productive line in our division, the team's third highest scorer, participated in the coaches All Star game, his serene but effective approach to hockey really made him unique. He was the team's second highest scorer in the playoffs. The ability of the seniors along with a full complement of talented underclassmen, coupled with the unique comraderie and total dedication of everyone, enabled this team to single itself out as WHS's best hockey team ever. hogs’ tennis Tennis certainly was not one of Woonsocket High School's stronger teams. A 4-3 victory over North Smithfield was the highlight of the season as the team finished with a 1-7 record. Graduate Dave Beauchemin was the consistent scorer of the team. Next year promises to be better for the WHS boys' tennis team. SCOREBOARD Woonsocket vs. Team 1 M.S.C. 6 1 M.S.C. 6 1 N.
