I peeked in to see who it might be and I discovered my American friend studying his Latin adjectives and entoying himself immensely I-Ie told me that Latin was very exciting and the stories of Rome very adventurous and besides that Latin is a romance and here he paused for I had been suddenly transported into another world which is connected with word ROMANCE but as suddenly as I got into the new world I was Jarred out of my trance twice as fast with the final word of his sentence language Leaving Miss Adams with an invitation to come again soon we walked along the corridor until we came to Miss Dorringtons room and finding her sitting at her desk we went in bent on increasing our knowledge of Caesar whose words Veni Vidi Vici are famous LANGUAGE H E TALKS Mr E Condon Buenos dias senor E Como esta usted? DY' It sounded good to hear my native tongue again after all these months The occasion was during a visit to one of Mr Condon s first year Spanish classes As the familiar Good day Sir and How are you? rolled off the tongues of these students of th Castillian language I found myself longing for home and my friends there The teacher began to talk about the character ISIICS and customs of South America which made me think of the tlme when I will tell my friends In HERE IS ROME Mr Benjamm Me sere South America about the dos and don ts f the United States of America Whats that Spanish? No but its almost like t I opened the door and stepped into Mr Mes sere s Italian class The pupils in this particular class were in their second year of Italian and we had a grand time trying to find the differences between Spanish and Italian Then the bell rang for the next class and I rushed to Enghsh where I found myself Writing a theme in English using Italian articles and Span ish nouns IT WILL RISE AGAIN Mass Francoise Valcourt
