ASSEMBLY gjeclica fio n E TAKE great pride in dedicating this 1941 issue of the Quiver to the traditional self-sacrificing spirit with which the American people have accepted the burdens of the great National Defense program which our government has launched at a time of grave emergency. This enthusiasm, this spirit is representative of the noble ideals which have served as the foundation of our magnificent American democratic system. In every part of our vast country the defense program is receiving a sincere welcome. Industry. labor. and science are cooperating. Our fine young manhood is responding to the appeal. Our fighting forces. injected with new vigor. are being rapidly strengthened. Our peerless navy is being enlarged. Every American citizen. regardless of race. creed. or color. has put his shoulder to the wheel. With the yvhole-hearted approbation of a united nation. the National Defense program is off to a flying start. America will not rest until she is strong enough to repel any and all invasions. No foreign propaganda can weaken the unflinching morale of the American people.
