Inter-I-Iigh was estab- lished to form a friendly r el a t io n s h i p between the schools in the Western Conference and as a means for exchanging ideas among the schools. A.S.B. President, Dan Lampard, summed up the achievements of the Associated Student Body for '68-'69. Having an agenda that s ee med endless was the pro- blem of the Associated Student Body this year. There was a decision to be made on a theme, mascot, and emblem. Then there was our money issue and the pro- blem of setting up the various activities, rules, names, and traditions. And. believe me, allthese things repre- sented one big headache for everyone. But, more im- portant than these heada ch e s, there was the joy and happiness that comes from knowing you worked together toward accomplishment. fTop Rightj Representatives at an informal meeting. fLoWer Rightj The music of The Beard is enjoyed by dancers at the first A. A.S.B..' ayear This year, A.S.B. was faced with many seem- ingly infinite jobs. Several problems and pro- jects which were c arr ied over from last year kept the council busy for most of the year. There wer e new projects to be initiated also. Among the major dec is io ns made this year were the school theme, motto, mascot, and coat of arms. An Irish theme was decided upon by the majority vote of the s t ude nt body. Once the theme was decided upon an Irish c om m itte was estab- lished to bring further ideas for names before the student body. By the end of the year, Fianna Fail QWar r io r s of Destinyj was our mottog a c oat of arms was d raw ng the idenity of the Woodway Warrior was revealedg and we became the first school in our district to nameour buildings. A fall candy sale, several donut sales, dances and a spring carnival, Donnybrook Fair , were major fund raisers. Monies sustained from these activities help ed to pay off the debts that are encountered when starting a new school. Carol Besaw and jeff Coffelt represented Wood- way at Inter-High this year. They attended me etings at Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Meadowdale, Sehome, Bellingham, Everett, and Cascade High School. Woodway hosted the 20

Girls' club does its own thing FRONT ROW: Diana Avery, Karen Kaltbrunner, Janis Cox, Yolanda Martinez, Becky Rath, Frances jasper. BACK ROW: Thea Hinclal, Norma Larshus, Linda Ne- well, Peggy Taylor, janet Schaal, Debbie Snow. Girls' Club did their own this year When. . . the officers picked uniforms like Shoreline l-Iigh's Girls' Club had the year before. . .an inactive Boys' Club beat us in the canned food drive.. .we sold the same carameled apples for two weeks. . .we made a candle factory out of the Home Ec. room for the Tolo can- dles. . .the junior Class President came in and helped bake Spanish Wedding cakes for Tolo-he may not have helped much, but he really ate a lotl. . . Eeyore came to visit the girls at the Big-Little Sister Banquet. . .three seventh graders bought Mums from our Mum Sale. . .we had girls marking the Boys' Club canned foods with G's so that we could claim them. . .Stag gave Girls' Club half of the totalcans for the canned food drive. . .we saw the job on the faces of the Sophomores when they got sardines shoved down their throats at the Big-Little Sister Banquet... Tolo turned out to be WoodWay's first suc- cessful formal dance.
