Early Preparations In order to prepare the school for student oc- cupancy, principals, secretaries, counselors and other Work crews met daily at Woodway one month before classes began in September. Be c au s e Woodway High School had only two classes, s opho mo r e s and juniors, with no seniors, it was also temporary headquarters for Brier junior High School and for Edmonds Community College. It was oft en necessary for personnel from each of the three units to Wait their turn to use classrooms. Mose, as he is affectionately called, answered calls for help promptly. 1 Our principal, Mr. Davis, had the added handicap of moving with a cast on his leg, the result of a summer accident. Mrs. Fuhrman, librarian at Woodway High, came early to sort hundreds of cards for new books to be placed on the new shelves in the new library.

Mr. Davis' right hand, Mrs. Myron, is kept constantly busy with bulletins , announce- ments, and phone calls. Despite the hectic schedule she maintains her exuberance and enthusiasm for all of Woodway's activities. Mrs. Schaeffer, counseling secretary, as- sists the guidance depmtment with its paper work. Running the mimeographing machine is one of the many duties of Mrs. Crary, Woodway's faculty secretary. Secretarial S Zajf Keeping the records straight is Mrs. Phillips, attendance secretary. Those who don't know her by name, would recognize her signature on any number of little white slips. Guidance Ivlr. McClenahan and Mrs. Svendsen, WHS junior and sophomore counselors, are always ready and willing to assist students. 9
