ADMINISTRATION MR. CLEON J. WINGARD Cleon J, Wingard is more to Woodward High School than Chietc administrator and authority, far removed from the essence of school life. He is vitally a part of the student body and, in particular, of the class of 1965. Each senior has come to ; know Mr. Wingard not only as c: principal, but 05 Cl friend as well, for he has made an effort to work directly with us. His interest extends to the academically talented as well 05 the troubled student. He has en- deavored to ally more closely the work of the Student Council and the administra- tion by attending board meetings and dis- cussing school problems and possibilities for improvement. He supported the stu- dents in their independent effort to con- tinue and improve the Writers' Contest. He brought together those planning to take eorly-bird classes, in order to shore frankly with them his ideas and plans. In Student Council, in activities, in classes, in The hall, Mr, Wingord has devoted time to knowing every senior. He is, in spirit, clearly Ci member of the class, for he too has spent six high school years at Wood- ward, in triumph and defeat, oiwoys with end not above us. Mr. Wingard is among the most loyal, concerned, and active members of the 750 in the class of i965. Therefore, we, the class, devote to him this place of honor that he so well deserves among his fellow seniors. Our principal: relaxed . . . . . . and under pressure. 22
