Each new class opens into a specific field of knowledge. Our student welcomes a study period, preferably in the silence of the school library. During this break in the dayis curriculum, he can unlock the door to new horizons. He may develop himself into a well-read individual by browsing through the fine collection of fiction, reference books, biographies, and magazines. He may travel, light, hunt, swim, and relax. He may study. Most eagerly awaited by students and faculty is the brief half hour set aside for lunch. The student probably will make a procession through the lunch line and choose from a well-balanced menu. He then seats himself at a table in a modern lunch- room which in one day serves over 2000 bustling chattering, and energetic teenagers. He may eat to the accompaniment of music . . . of the latest news in sports and cars . . . or may be absorbed in his own thoughts. He leaves recuperated, refreshed, and ready for his coming classes. An earnest discussion with a counselor helps the student in deciding and preparing for the future. He is ably guided in choosing the most beneficial subjects and planning a well-rounded schedule.
