To the graduating class of 1951 I want to extend sincere congratulations and best wishes. At this time of world uncertainty I particularly wish the boys God-speed and hope that lasting peace may be established soon and that you may be saved the horrors of war. You have completed a long program of work and are now prepared to earn your living and take your place as weII-informed citizens. I particularly hope that the graduates of the Commercial Vocational Department will be able to meet each challenge of business life as it presents itself and, through understanding, sympathy, and appreciation, estab- lish friendships which will be lasting and worthwhile. May the traditions and ambitions inspired by your high school training help you to become loyal members of society. I hope that by the broadening of your experiences and contacts you may assist in bringing about a worlcl-wide peace. Marguerite Ryan

The purposes and goals of the universe as established by our Creator will be met. Each of you has his port to play in their fulfillment. When the time is right in His scheme of things events will take place. Things and people will change - but these purposes never! Frequently these events and your purposes are out of focus e you are confused and refuse to accept the inevitable. To do so is to your own detriment. The number of disii- Iusioned and unhappy people in every community is concrete evidence of this fact. The challenge of youth today is to be strong enough to set the pattern for their lives in tune with the purposes and goals of Him who created us all. There must be no compro- mise. Your faith must drive you relentlessly toward their attainment if you are to succeed. May you the Class of 1951 be wise enough to make the right choices. G. H. Van Ness Assistant Principal
