An administrator of a large school such as Woodward is presented with many problems. He must have the patience, skill, and leadership to help find desirable solutions to many difficulties. We are very fortunate, indeed, to have been guided by iust such a person, our own principal, Mr. Moelier. Although Mr. Moeller has been at Woodward only a year, he has already won a place in our hearts as a true and understanding friend. This may be due to the fact that he is a former graduate of Woodward High Schooi and still holds his Alma Mater dear to his heart. The reflection of his love for old Woodward shOWS in his enthusiastic efforts to perfect Woodward and the Woodward students. We hope that we have shown Mr. Moeller that the some true Woodward spirit exists today as when he spent four happy and suc. cessful years here.

WUDDWARD ESSEQUAM VIDERI xTT 80 Dear to Our Hearts, the theme of our 1951 Annual, is most appropriate. Cer- tainly, Woodward High School becomes clear to the hearts of all those who become in- volved in the life of the school. Aimed at developing the dispositions and abilities needed to secure and maintain good health and physical fitness, using leisure time in right ways, sustaining successfully certain definite social relationships and engaging successfully In vocational activities, Woodward's contribution to her students has been most significant. The long and glorious history of Woodward is testimony to the fact that our school has done an outstanding job for one hundred twenty years. Those of us who have been priv- ileged to receive our secondary school education at Woodward cannot help being everlast- ingly grateful to this magnificent institution. Woodward will be ever dear to our hearts. The theme is important also because it points to the importance of our associations and friendships here at Woodward. Friendships begun in high school are often lasting. The importance of friendly relations with our associates cannot be overemphasized. Perhaps the most important single responsibility that each of us must accept today is that of foster- ing the best possible relations with those with whom we come in daily contact. If the peoples of the world accept this responsibility, our present crisis can and will be overcome without total disaster. If we in the high schools learn how to do this, there is hope for world peace in the future. In this respect also, Woodward will be dear to our hearts W. L. Moeller
