Civilization builds its hope for a better world on youth, on those who win he the citizens of more enlightened, more democratic countries, countries no longer houndeti hy barriers shutting out other citizens of one wortd. No thoughtful person can review the history of the bloodiest and most wide- spread of all wars without a feeling of pride and gratitude to the youthful men and women who savect our world and salvagetl civilization, too often at the cost of all their tomorrows. They had been trained and educated for their part in that titanic conHict and gloriously they hore witness to the tightness of their training. Education for youth's part in the world of tomorrow must be better than any system offered cluring past generations. It must be education for their place in a worth-state rather than as citizens of any one geographically limited country. Such education is a challenge to educators everywhere. The core of all future ctlucation must be training for citizenship in a world-stateF-tor world brotherhood, for a broader, deeper, fuller life, and for a more fruitful harvest through world- wide cooperation in every enterprise that enriches human life and dtgnifies the individual.
