A young man or woman who enters teaching. gives himself over to tiie advancement of learning and to the betterment of civiiization even more completely titan tines the missionary. Each pupil has his own personality. with its simrt-comings and inadequacies; each has his likes and disiikes, lliS wants and don't wants; and each proiiiem is just a part of tin: teacher's jOiJ. He is a graciuate of this school and returned to it in 1001 to take up his duties as a teacher of art. in 1911, he was made assistant principal. in tints capacity he met a great number of students and attempted to understand each one as an individual personality amt to help and direct him toward success. Cramer has been our assistant principal for sixteen years. He assumed that oitice when iViri Jones became principal. Mr. Cramer's chief interest outsicie of his work at VVoodward is nature. He is a recognized authority on birdst anti his work in photography is outstanding. Though Mr. Cramer has the disagreeable task or handiing aijsentees and tieaiing with many or the cases or discipline in our schooi, he, nevertheless. has retained his kinciness 0f hunt and gentleness of manner. NM Miss Lillian Bowie. our dean of giris. was time First Jean of giris in Cincinnati. For twenty years she has been at Woodwarri. and has seen hundrects of boys and girls come anal go. Her job requires sympathy and understanding for the students whose problems she attempts to solve, In every case. there must be moral help and comfort, but also something practical that wiii enabie the pupil to grappie with his difficulty. Miss Bowie's record shows that Sim ilas given all of this, and more. NM Nlrs. Zorens fills the position of secretary with great skin anci etiicienry. in regard to ttm numerous details of our school. she is the omniai guide book. Any question ranging through who, whose. when, which, why, what, where. and wherefore, she answers with promptness and uncanny accuracy. NM Mrs. Alma Barman is the youngest member of tile oiiice staff and also the most recent addition. Though her time at VVoociwarci has been short, she is popular with the students and the teachers.
