7a ' In our busy life everyday, people die, and few beyond the immediate relatives and friends take note of their passing. Woodward High School has lost a good and faithful teacher, Howard Phipps. He was a quiet man, patient and kindly, but a man of great learning and high scholarship-a Yale man. He taught Latin and history or rather he taught youth. In a final rush of activity came the memorable prom and banquet. At last . . . graduation. Who can know the mixed emotions of that last moment? Of course they will see each other again, but the realization of graduation always brings tears. Now they stand in an open doorway ready and able to meet the future. 24
