0120 SWL QV,-f During four years we have struggled together, finding the path of knowledge easy at times, but at others beset with obstacles. These years have been filled with joy, sorrow, defeat, and victory. Surely, we have broadened during these years. We have learned to concentrate, to respect the feelings of others, and above all we have learned to co-operate. Through the co-operation of the faculty, the class, and the entire student body, great things have been accomplished. We owe much to our principal, Mr. Duvendack, who has been our true friend, and those of us who know him will vouch for his deep interest in us as Seniors and in our class affairs. Up to this point our lives have followed a parallel, but we have reached the fork in the road. Some will continue in their pursuit of knowledge, others will become involved in practical affairs. But essentially our future careers differ slightly. Our hopes, our desires, and our ideals are those that have been acquired in Woodward High School. These will become more valuable than mere literary knowledge in the years to come. Graduation opens to us the gateway of the world, where advantages and oppor- tunities will be ours. Let us endeavor to order our lives, so as to bring honor and glory to Woodward High School whose halls we are about to leave.

How eagerly that record of the year's doings is anticipated and how keenly is it enjoyed. To produce such an annual as Vlloodward publishes is not the work of a moment. Early in the fall, preparations are going forward which are not completed until months later. Annuals represent the combined efforts of the staff workers. who have given of their time and talent, that the year book may picture truly the life and activities of the school. lt is hard to find words enough to thank Mrs. McManamon and Hpopl' Sheline for their undying patience and wonderful understanding in guiding a group of young, unexperienced teenagers in producing the Saga. Special thanks are also due to Mr. Stobinski, Don Ellison and all the print shop boys for printing the pages of the Saga. The result of this co-operation is the 1952 Saga, which the staff offers eagerly, expectantly, to the students of Woodward High School.
