Glass linstnrg As the year of 1957 closes we look back to the year when eleven little angels started at Woodward Let's start with kindergarten and go through the years Edward Anderson, Mike Baker, Ralph Beck, Chuck Boyles Dick Burns susan Carey, Glenn Crum Marvell Greene, Joan McMorris, Larry Oviatt and Tom Moyer were the eleven But Chuck got tired quick and left for Nebraska Another swarm of '57 seniors entered the doors of Woodward in the first grade The seven,to be ex act,were Max Hitsman, Harold Kuehl, Jim Lane Nancy Newland John Rose, Diana oeemann and Roger btre ght Bob Battani and Carolyn Pentico entered in the second grade Judy Hutt was the only straggler to enroll in the third grade James Grimm came to us from the country school a long with Chuck, who decided to stay with us Then Marvell got the wandering bug and left for Waukee No new additions were found in fifth grade from Yugoslavia, whose name was Paul bgeklocha Pat Jones,a girl from Wyom1ng,arr1ved but she liked the west better and returned More attraction came to us in the seventh grade Those making their appearances were Trudy Morse Leslie otanturf, and Giggling Gary Weber Marvell returned for good Little Jimmy Rothfus, along with ornery Phil Wlckett came in the 8th grade All of us entered the high school as green fresh men and gave the teachers a rough time Remember the time there were only eight left in the class when Sgatetournamentswere on T V 7 The sophomore class brought Marie Frantum from M1nburn and Pat back from the west In our Junior year, working at football games was rather cold but lots of fun When the prom, our largest project so far, came along, everyone worked diligently on the decorations All 1n all, everyone enJoyed himself, and we think it was the nicest prom Woodward High has ever had Of course, our class play was terrific, too Along came our senior year, class play, homecoming pictures, Christmas, and the final stretch to the day we become alumni of Woodward 0 i 9 . 1 K , vt , a ' Y a X in . In sixth grade we gained a little dark-haired boy . . D , .
