THE 1956 CLASS PROPHECY The star reporter of the WChron1clen stepped off the traln It was none other than D1x1e Doty of Norld Nlde Fame She had come to her home town a story to be done On the class of n56' of whlch she'd been one After the long years of wanderlng around Upon return th1s 15 what she found The town had not changed much as I could see But not a face looked famlllar to me The old school house llke a sentlnel stood And to my eyes lt sure looked good I ran up the steps as I'd aft done before And behold lt was Johnny who opened the door I began asking questlons I wanted to know About all the school chums I'd known long ago And Johnny seemed glad to see me too And he told me everythlng that he knew There'd been some changes ln the old place And many had lost 1n l1fe's long race But 56's class I'm glad to tell Had nearly all done falrly well You remember Hughes and Fox w1th the1r Jolly faces? Well Dean Bice and Janlce Sheppard have taken thelr places She conducted the chorus, he led the band And they both became famous all over the land But I almost falnted I was so surprlsed, When he sa1d Jan1s Jessen had been marrled twlte She had moved to St Paul, where her hubby found employment And w1th th1s last cholc she was 11V1Hg engoyment Bob Janssen and Buddy had gone back to thelr homes Where Bob got marrled but Buddy stlll roams You remember how Buddy had qulte a hablt of walklng, And also another bad hablt of talk1ng, It seems I can hear Stuhr saylnv to h1m, WBuddy, don't let me hear you say that agaln Helen Blazan never had seemed to regret The fact that she had not found a man yet She was the 9ff1C1GHC stenographer and done her work well But how long they can keep her t1me only can tell You know McGee Turner could never keep stlll Well, he never has, perhaps never will He 15 l1Vlng 1n Hollywood and entertalns folks, Wlth h1s excellent danclng and comlcal Jokes . ..
