games, winning sixteen and losing four The Hawkettes were riding an eleven game winmng streak when Colleen Goudy Senior forward, was forced to leave the lineup because of a chipped bone mher right ankle They showed a tremendous amount of power up until the time of her injury Norma Day, Sophomore, was high scorer for the season with a total of 374 points, and an ave rage of 19 points per game Helen Martincic Sophomore, was second with 272 points, average of 15 points per game Colleen Goudy Senior was third with 198 points and an average of 14 points per garne In the back court the three girls who started the season were there when the season ended They were Alice Noland, Senior post guard Jackie Clark, Junior, and Thelma Miller, Junior guards The 1949 50 season should be the banner year for the I-lawkettes with four regulars returning and a wealth of youthful material coming up Bonnie Noland, eighth grade and Joan Clark Sophomore, should fill in Goudy s forward spot Darlene
