SENIOR HISTCRY e freshman cl s Woodward High School in l943 ecrslsted of twenty six green freshies In September 1944 the long awaited day came and they advanced another fl'grt of s airs to be with the more digrlfied group They gained one new student Robert Henry from Des Moin s but lost fife Harriett Hensen G arles Baker, Earl Weeks Marvel Roxe and Margaret Hall leaving twenty two in the sophomore class Next came their Junior year wit? three new students one from Perry and two from Madrid High School Trese were Dorothy Jean Gladson Leona Strauss and Gloria Sp ncer Tris year they felt quite proud to have pr sented a three act comedy play A Little Honey' which was a big succ ss as well as the Junior Senior Banquet put on with the money they took in from their play and by satisfy ing the tremendous appetites of the football and basketball fans The term nearing its end belng very happy and exciting thus far for he junior class, was greatly sorrowcd by the death of one of their most beloved classmates Robert Vaughn wro had taken a leading part in the class play and co operated to the utmost with his class in all their activities of 1946 when they velcom d bone from the navy three ex servlcemen, sack Smith and Jorn Gray who were former tuderts of Woodward Hlgh School and James Evans formerly of Madrid High School Shortly after the term had started Robert Henry left to join the army thus leaving twenty five in the senior class John and James completed their schooling a Woodward the first semester It was soor found that being a serior was ex pensive business when it came to picture taking time' They spent half a day 'n ' s Moines havlrg their pictures taker early n the fterroon and each doing as they wished until 6 OO when they met and ate supper at Bishops and saw a movie after wards It was a tiring but unforgettable day Skip day senior class play the lovely ban quet ard n addo ion exe cises were added to the memorles lnrg fo be remembered n Here s wish who senlors of the future good lucku and he p of good times together Th so entering .4 4 Q O 1 1 :J 4- - L-C - U 3 4 ., . - Q - , . -V , v , ' T Q r fl ' 1 'I J ' ' ' ' 4 I o . 1 4 1 - A.
