Mr. Howard R. Nixon, Superintendent of Woodward Public Schools, is married and has three children ages 2, II, and 13. His hobby is hunting. He is a member of the Woodward Rotary Club, the Woodward Chamber of Commerce, the Masonic Lodge, and Board of Directors of the Pioneer Museum. He attends the Methodist Church where he is a member of the official board. Nixon has a BS Degree from Northwestern State College, an MS jree from Oklahoma State University, a Certificate of Completion from the Chillicothe Missouri Business College, and course work completed for Ed.D. Degree at Oklahoma State University. His work experience includes three years as a teacher and Principal, two years as Assistant Superintendent, and thirteen years as Superintendent of Schools. All his experience has been at Jet Public Schools and Woodward Public Schools. MRS. BILLIE HEATON, the wife of Coach Bill Heaton, is the person who is called upon to substitute when one of Mr. Nixon's secretaries finds she cannot make it. MR. HOWARD R. NIXON, Superintendent MRS. DORIS SWANSON is 'married and has two children, Roxanne. 13 and Mike, 10. She attended Oklahoma State University and has seventeen years of secretarial experience. She enjoys oil painting, reading, piano and bowling. MRS. GEORGIA SCHAEFER is married and has two daughters, Candyce, 19 and Denise, 17. She attended Northwestern State College and has ten years of secretarial experience. She enjoys reading and is a member of the Methodist Church Worship Commission. 4411 5

Board Of Education MR. DAN PRICE, Treasurer of the Board of Education. MISS ELIZABETH CUTLER, Clerk to the Board of Education. Miss Cutler attended the Woodward Junior College, OU summer school and has taken some OSU extension classes. She has worked for 34 years as secretary to the superintendent, and is now in her first year as clerk to the Board of Education. 4

Mr. Walker is the high school principal. He has a B.S. degree in Animal Science from O.S.U. and a M.T. degree from N.W.S.C. Mr. Walker taught vocational agriculture at Fairview for two years, at Freedom for three years, and at Mooreland for one year. He was the Freedom principal and coach for one year. He also taught science In W.J.H.S. for six years and he was the junior high principal for two years before becoming high school principal. Mr. Walker is a deacon at the First Christian Church. He is a member of the Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, all the teaching professional organizations, and the I.O.O.F. Lodge. Mr. Walker enjoys all sports and fishing. He especially enjoys working at the farm. Mr. Walker and his wife, Mary Netta have two children: Mrs. Kay Walker Swaffar who teaches science in Ponca City and Travis who is a student at N.W.S.C. Travis also runs a ranch. MR. GILBERT WALKER—High School Principal ADMINISTRATION BOB VAN METER—Vice Principal Mr. Van Meter is the W.H.S. Vice Principal. He also teaches drafting. He received his B.S. and M.T. degrees from N.W.S.C. Mr. Van Meter has completed his tenth year of teaching. In his teaching career Mr. Van Meter has been a head basketball coach for ten years, a girls basketball coach for eight years, and an assistant football coach for six years. He has also taught social science, drivers education, drafting, and physical education. Mr. Van Meter is a member of the First Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoys sports of all kinds. Mr. Van Meter and his wife, llene have two children: Jeania who is ten years old, and Mark who is seven years old. MELBA BRISCOE—Secretary Mrs. Briscoe worked in the Marlowe telephone office for three and one-half years, for Farmer's Insurance in New Mexico, and in Dr. Quillan's office for one year before becoming the high school secretary. Mrs. Briscoe is active in the First Baptist Church. She is also a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoys sewing and has just recently taken up tole painting. Mrs. Briscoe has four children: Vicki who is thirteen years old, Toni—eleven, Charles—nine, and Randy—seven. GLENDA JOPLIN—Counselor Mrs. Joplin is the high, school counselor. She taught the fifth grade in Colorado for one year, English and journalism In Missouri for two years, and was a counselor in Arkansas for two years before she came to Woodward. Mrs. Joplin received her B.S. degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and her M.S.E. degree from Arkansas State University. She enjoys reading and music. Mrs. Joplin has been active in the First Baptist Church. She has one daughter, Christine, who is three years old. 6
