LETTERMEN’S CLUB This year’s Lettermen’s Club was one of the largest that Woodward High has ever had. This club consists of all boys who have lettered in high school sports. SENIOR LETTERMEN DEDICATION On the morning of September 18, 1965, the Boomer B” Team boarded an activity bus and left forTexhoma. A B” game was scheduled for that afternoon. However, the bus never made it to Texhoma. It was struck by a car and wrecked 34 miles out of Woodward. One member of the team, Gary Rottmayer, was killed. Gary was a polio victim since childhood, but you couldn’t say that he was handicapped. He had played football in junior high. He was an Eagle Scout. He had played in the band. In his Freshman year he received the Rotary Club Citizenship Award. Gary was known by many. Everyone who ever met him liked him. He had the sort of friend-winning personality that everyone remembers. And certainly, he will never be forgotten by anyone who knew him. To this boy, who was a Boomer in the true sense of the word, this sports section is dedicated. WOODWARD BOOMERS • FRONT ROW: D. Through cooperation and hard work the Seniors provided WHS with leadership for a year full of accomplishments. The class of '66 is full of fine and varied talent. This talent brought leadership, honors, and enjoyment to WHS. Talented Seniors busily headed every important organization in high school. The Senior Class also produced hillbilly actors, folksingers, jazz vocalists and musicians, and an outstanding Senior Play. The honors and awards acquired by members of this Senior Class can be viewed with pride by every student of WHS. We were sports stars, beauty queens, scholarship winners and members of many honorary groups both state and national. Although the Seniors contributed much to WHS, we feel we gained even more. The teachings, friendship, and memories of high school will remain an important part of every Senior. We thank everyone for the help, inspiration and wonderful fun of our high school years. CLASS OF 1967 OFFICERS Vice President John Annis Reporter Tom Williams President Mark Dick Treasurer Kaye Faulk Secretary Maureen Billing' The Junior Class of ,66 went all the way for a great year. We did everything in grand fashion. The Junior Play was one of the best and most successful in school history. Thanks to us there s a new way to make money-have a car smash! The Juniors were in there pulling for every school activity. We participated! Most Juniors waded through a mighty tough schedule this year, and we re proud o effort made in every classroom. Of course the prom was stupendous, we'd settle for nothing less. We have been triumphant in all our endeavors, but tragedy, too. has left its mark. So we ask not that you remember our flashes of greatness, but rather remember what we have done, we have done together. PROM AND BANQUET The Juniors gave a marvelous Prom and Banquet this year. The banquet was held in the Civic Center. A small garden enclosed by a white picket fence decorated the entrance. On the stage was a mural of a large southern plantation. The Prom was held in Convention Hall but to the Juniors and Seniors it was like a large mansion situated in the Old South. Ivy climbed up the white bricks which covered the walls. The wishing well was the center of attraction. On each side of the well was a fountain which held two goldfish. The night of April 16. will never be forgotten. It was wonderful! BANQUETS Mr. and Mrs. Canaan enjoying the All-Sport Banquet. The head table at the T. I. Banquet.
