They eagerly joined in everything they could; they proposed plans and looked for ways to improve W.H.S. The Student Council is the backbone of the school for the students, and this year it held its shape and took the slump” out of many things. They published a Student Directory, painted trash cans, sponsored a fabulous Coronation Ball, and a million other things that will never be forgotten in the hearts of many. Yes, this year the Student Council tried to stamp out idle hands. SEATED, ROW lj Debby Gaines, Mary Maxey, Bana Burkett, Judy Harper, Fonda Dennett, Marlene Bengs, Miss Sparks - Sponsor. The final result of the Boomer is right before your eyes. Putting together a yearbook involves much hard work and brain-racking, but the finished product always brings a great deal of satisfaction 40 those who helped assemble it. This year's Boomer made several strides forward in the way of new ideas, as can be seen by the layout, the pictures and the artwork. We hope you enjoy it. Sue Young climbed in the trophy case to mark the increase in sales when Steve Allmand and J. L. Albert turned up to watch the pretty picture in the window. The sophomore year, being our first year in high school, has been exciting, thrilling, and inspiring. Adjusting to the new way of life has been a lot of hard work, full of unusual experiences and many satisfactions. Our particular class has contributed many of its exceptional talents to such things as our great Boomer band and fine Dramatics Club plays. Members of our class helped make up and carry on many duties in the various school activities. You will find a sophomore almost anywhere you look - in sports, Paramedical Club, Peppers, F.T.A., and other organizations. Our sophomore year has truly been enjoyable and rewarding. We will always remember this inspiring year as one of our best. The seniors, proud, unsure, and anxious, prepare for the last step in their high school days. It s been a good class--Yes they 're proud and they've got a reason to be. They can remember friends, ballgames, plays, parties, proms, the victory bell, tests, tests, and more tests. They're a proud class--unsure of their future, but anxious to make the best of it. We wish you luck--CLASS OF '65! STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTION During the campaign signs were hung from the floor to the ceiling of WHS.
