COME AND JOIN US, the “BOOMER” Staff, as we present your year, 1964 In I, as a student of Woodward Senior High School, believe that there are certain high standards by which I should govern my conduct. While I am a student at Woodward Senior High School and as long hereafter as I shall hold her memory close and dear. I will; Show sincere reverence to my God, Uphold my flag and the liberties which it represents, Obey my parents. Respect my teachers, and Excercise all consideration and kindness toward my classmates. Believing that the highest aim of the students is to secure that knowledge which will help him lead a fuller, happier life, I will work diligently at my lessons and strive to excel in them. At the same time, I believe I should participate in those activities and form those associations which will make me a better, more useful citizen. And at all times I will try to conduct myself in a manner which will reflect honor and merit upon Woodward Senior High School. WOODWARD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL WOODWARD, OKLAHOMA Pausing at the intersection, we see the stop and go lights beaming down on us These lights are five people who compose the Board of Education for our school district. We were represented by the band at Alva for marching contest, at Shattuck for concert contest, and at Weatherford for district contest. The band added much to the half-times all during the football season. At one time the band prepared a new show every week for five weeks for the home crowds, plus helping at the pep assemblies. Besides all the contests and football games, the band prepares two concerts for home viewers, The Pop Concert, and the Spring Concert. This year the band also participated in a Christmas program for the W.H.S. student body. Again we salute you, Mr. T and your Boomer Band, for an outstanding year! W. Flannery, R. Stewart. T. Parsons. Mary Jane Maxey, Donna Beth Blasdel, Mr. Thompson. The Woodward High School Stage Band, under the direction of Mr. Jim Thompson, participates in many Woodward High School activities. The band played for the All-Sports Banquet. The group also adds to the half-times at the basketball games by providing music for the enjoyment of the spectators. On January 18 the band traveled to Oklahoma City for a stage band clinic. At the clinic the band played three numbers which they had prepared and two college band directors gave them ideas on how they could improve their stage band. Mr. T tunes the band for a rehearsal. The band swings out with a tune at the basketball game. LIBRARIANS The Office Girls have been a great help this year to Mr. Stewart.
