Page 83 Superintendent Dale Hughey presents the Northwest Conference Football Championship Trophy to Co-Captains Allen Covalt and Don Derrick. Margaret Speaks is crowned Senior Class Queen during the Homecome-ing Assembly by Jack Rutledge, senior class president. Highlight Students sing Christmas carols led by Mr. Highley around the Christmas tree following the Christmas assembly. Steve Frost, Marvin Knight, Leo Thompson, and Gayle Wells enact a scene from the one-act play presented by the Dramatics Club at Christmas. 4 The local science fair in March drew a large crowd of visitors to W. H. S. Students in T. I. count their contributions for the United Fun Drive, sponsored by the Student Council. Portraits in Make-Up was the title of one of the National School Assemblies. Jack Vloedman is made up as a young boy. Woodward High School was the state student council vice-president. Karen Lynn Cullen fulfilled the duties of the office. The delegates at the state convention at Bartlesville included Chuck Stewart, Patti Butcher, Karen Cullen, Jim Wade, and Jim Speaks. of W H S. 5 Philip Giles, Wilmer Marrs, and Judy Fehrer prepare to manufacture carbonic acid in chemistry lab. Classes Boys State Jack Rutledge served as the attorney general of the 1958 Boys State held at the Norman. Tom Allen was elected a councilman of Duffy City. Girls State DeAnn Moser served as a state senator while Karen Cullen was elected to the top position of Governor of the 1958 Girls State held at Chickasha. Karen was also one of the two representatives to Girls Nation from Oklahoma.
