THE ’57 BOOMER Woodward High School Woodward, Oklahoma F.F.A. Bus Boomer Wagon '57 style Highway robbery? On Guard? CAMPUS Diligence? Is it that bad? Ku Klux Klan and Victim Favorite pastime. This hurts me worse than it does you. Another year is almost gone and again the Boomer Staff has preserved for us in prose, poetry and pictures a record of happy days spent at Woodward High School. These memories will become more precious to you as the years go by and you realize more fully the value received from the hours spent in your classes with devoted faculty members, the friendships formed, and the happy activities enjoyed during your years in Woodward High School. No finer young people exist than those who attend Woodward High School. It is a pleasure for me to be your superintendent and watch your growth throughout your schooling in Woodward. I would admonish you always to give of your best to your community, state and nation and to remember that there is a Light that leads to greater accomplishments. Be true to yourself and follow that Light. Superintendent Administration Miss Elizabeth Cutler Superintendent's Secretary Dear W.H.S. For their efforts we should be ready to offer congratulations on a job well done and we know that the experience of producing this book will be one of their educational assets. It was formerly known as Little Central and used by the first and second grades, but was converted to its present use after the 1947 tornado. CAMPUS This is a portion of our campus viewed from Ninth and Locust. ON THIS GYM This is the old gym which has served us for so many years as a practice gym and for physical education classes. Most high school games are playea in the Kids' Incorporated Gym, however. CAFETERIA The building which houses our cafeteria was moved in from the Woodward Air Base to house elementary grades following the 1947 tornado. In 1951 it was converted to its present use. PARKING LOT The parking lot is a new feature at WHS. It occupies the space where the old junior high building stood. WOODWARD HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING Our high school building was built in 1929 and remodeled after the 1947 tornado. Last summer the halls and all the rooms were freshly painted. OUR CAMPUS • • • BOOMER STADIUM The stone gate-posts which mark the entrance to Boomer Field were presented by the classes of 1930, '31, '32, '33, '34, and '35. Last summer our press-box was remodeled, making a pleasing focal point for the entire stadium. VOCATIONAL ARTS BUILDING Our pride and joy is the new vocational arts building on our campus. It houses the mechanical 9 drawing, industrial arts, and T I classes. WE WORK WE STUDY, Ij U RAD HOMOGENIZE!
