CLASS HISTORY On the first Monday in September, nineteen hundred twenty-three, ninety boys and girls arose from their beds with the realization that a new life was dawning. All of us were eager to begin, although there was a little fear in our hearts. We started out bravely, just as every Freshman does, but naturally, not quite as successful as the Class of ’23. The boys became prominent in school life at the very beginning by making a championship besketball team in interclass, and two made the high school team. We remember how the upperclassmen thought of giving us a real treat by letting us see it all at once. Accordingly, we received an invitation requesting our presence at the Annual Freshman Reception. During the evening we were rushed through, very briefly, the entire four years of high school. At last we passed the green stage and, drawing a deep sigh, thought of ourselves as Sophomores. When school began in ’2 4, sixty-five came back to weather the storms of that year with thirteen new ones to help. Six brilliant students left early that year and joined the next class. The class of ’27 was lacking and nothing was accomplished, yet our high school career would not be complete without it. We must have our ups and downs as others have. As we look back now, our thoughts do not linger here. In our Junior year we demonstrated the real pep and enthusiasm that was in us. We had entered into the real activities of our high school. We won first in the popularity contest. The Junior play and the Junior-Senior Banquet was very successful. Talk about “Pep” and “Stick-to-itiveness”, that bunch just couldn’t be beaten. But at last we are nearing the end of the road as far as High School is concerned. Each one is talking and planning what he shall do next year. What is in store for us? We shall remember our Motto: “Virtue Before Success.” i 9X7 ■—, ™™= » -jjLiuiiii niir[iniiiiTiinir|Huiiiiiifli||ii»iiiini»HHiniti .....
