HONOR COUNCIL Honor Council Honor Society The purpose of a code of honor is to encourage high ideals and standards of conduct among students. The HONOR COUNCIL at Woodward Academy con- sists of elected student government of- ficers who have the responsibility of deal- ing with honor violations, this body is the judicial Branch of our student go- vernment. The Honor Council offers the student the opportunity to be tried by his peers, it does not, however, replace the regular system of discipline at the Academy. The Randolph W. Thrower Chapter of the NATIONAL HONOR SOClETY is composed of juniors and Seniors. High academic achievement is not the only basis for admission, students are also chosen for thier integrity, involvement in school activities, and ability to get along with fellow students. The National Honor Society is not considered a service club. Each year, however, it sponsors an event in which both students and faculty parti- cipate. This year the faculty defeated the Seniors in a bruising football match, pro- ceeds being donated to charity. HONOR SOClETYf'l43
