Finishes Bus Year This year there were many accomplishments and some disappointments at Wood- ville High School. The football and basketball teams worked long hard hours, but they weren't quite able to match their 66-67 records. The Homecoming, highlight of the football season, was an important event to Woodville's student body. The track team was rewarded by setting several records and being outstanding in several track events. Although they didn't have a director last year, the band made a remarkable come- back and got straight l's at district contest. At state contest, the band received a high II rating. Arriving in Woodville, the band received an escort through town complete with sirens and flashing lights. The junior-Senior Prom and the Senior class play were good examples of how suc- cess is built with team work. Many students this year also received individual honors. All told, this year has been a very outstanding year. Many of Woodvill's Juniors and Seniors attended Penta-County Vocational School. Penta-Cotuity is a very valuable asset to Woodville's educational structure. For the student who doesn't plan to go'on to college, Penta- County offers training in many different fields and also gives the student an opportunity to learn skills while working. These students also contribute to the many class and extra-curricular activities at Woodville. The students of Penta- County are an integral part of Woodville High School. Effective on june 15, 1968, is the consolidation between the Woodville and Harris- Elmore school districts. The combine Boards of Education decided to put the Senior High School at Elmore and the Junior High School at Woodville. Because of this mer- ger, many more subjects were made available to the students. The best of both schools will be combined, and this combined potential should prove to be the core of much achievements. -......, of-----A-...rw 45
