Mary Lou Niedermeier This year the Student Council worked very diligently on the organization of assembly programs beneficial to the student body. After many obstacles a pay telephone was obtained by the council for the use of students making personal calls. The Homecoming basketball game and coronation of the season's basketball queen and court was again under the direction of this body. Another undertaking was the organization of a Safety Patrol for next year. Probably the most outstanding project of the council this year was the editing of a Student Handbook. The handbook is for the purpose of giving the student a better knowledge of the way our school is operated. lt contains such things as school history, school rules and regulations, academic standards of our school, some of the school cheers, the school song, the organizational setup and the constitutions of the various clubs operating within the school, and a detailed description of the way the library functions.

ABSENTEES: Allan Koch. CRAITIAUCS ASSGCIAIIGH Much of the credit for the success of the plays at Woodville High School should rightly fall on the Dramatics Association. This group of students holds monthly meetings in which various phases of the theater are studied. At one of the most interesting meetings this year, Miss Huyssen explained the history of make-up in the theater. Following this stirring lecture, the meeting took the form of a workshop in which the members practiced making-up themselves and fellow actors. Reading plays aloud is another favorite activity at the Dramatics Association's meetings. Experimenting with short scenes and action with sound effects provided the members an interesting and informative meeting. They tape-recorded these scenes, played them back, and then, as they found their errors, tried to make improvements. President . . Vice-President Secretary . . Treasurer . . Advisor . . . . .
