The Family Behind the Man Principal s Message To the student body: My message to you this year will be idealistic in its content. It concerns tne problem of the de- cline or decay of public morality in our great land. Webster’s Dictionary defines the word integrity as meaning moral soundness, uprightness, ana incor- ruptibiltty. If our school can instill into this stu- dent body the need to cherish and protect his pre- cious possession, your integrity, then we shall not have entirely failed in the making of useful citi- zens, regardless of academic accomplishment. You, as individual students, should make a conscious effort to adhere to upright, morally sound principles in making your daily decisions in life. Always remember that there is no middle ground in the area of your integrity. You either possess it or you do not. Each of you should guard your in- tegrity as you would your life, since life itself can become relatively meaningless once it is lost. Few things in life are as hard to recapture as your good name. As long as you can examine the inner re- cesses of your heart and tell yourself that your in- tegrity is intact and unsullied, you are as rich as anyone can be. And so I say to you, hold your in- tegrity close to your heart. Few things can De more satisfying to you than to know that yours is intact and uncorrupted. Sincerely,
