The Presew+ed bu , the J . Woodville Hi h School SeNior C1055 of 1966 Contents Title Page School Board and Superintendent Foreword Principal’s Message Annual Staff Parents League and Secretary Bus Drivers, Custodian, and Cafeteria Workers Organizations Elementary Advertisers Dat’s Dat Faculty Classes Favorites Athletics Wilkinson County School Board SEATED left to right: Messrs. Dorsey Trevillion, Charles Campbell, Charlie Netter- ville, Howard Stutzman, W. V. Carter, and J. A. Nowell. These men are dedicated to serving the schools of Wilkinson County. Their main interest is to provide the facilities and the teaching personnel necessary to insure Wil- kinson County's young people an education that will enable them to succeed in college or in life. MR. J. A. NOWELL County Superintendent of Education This Is OUR The Family Behind the Man Principal s Message To the student body: My message to you this year will be idealistic in its content. It concerns tne problem of the de- cline or decay of public morality in our great land. Webster’s Dictionary defines the word integrity as meaning moral soundness, uprightness, ana incor- ruptibiltty. If our school can instill into this stu- dent body the need to cherish and protect his pre- cious possession, your integrity, then we shall not have entirely failed in the making of useful citi- zens, regardless of academic accomplishment. You, as individual students, should make a conscious effort to adhere to upright, morally sound principles in making your daily decisions in life. Always remember that there is no middle ground in the area of your integrity. You either possess it or you do not. Each of you should guard your in- tegrity as you would your life, since life itself can become relatively meaningless once it is lost. Few things in life are as hard to recapture as your good name. As long as you can examine the inner re- cesses of your heart and tell yourself that your in- tegrity is intact and unsullied, you are as rich as anyone can be. And so I say to you, hold your in- tegrity close to your heart. Few things can De more satisfying to you than to know that yours is intact and uncorrupted. Sincerely, Annual Staff After working hard on the annual, we often relaxed at the Big-R. Each year the football team nominates twelve young ladies for cheerleaders. From this group the student body elects six. The students chose wisely this year, for these six attractive girls and their mascot did much to pep up the team. The girls started the 65-66 season with five lettermen. After a slow first week, they began to jell and play good ball. During the second week of the season, they fought to the finals of the Salem tourney, losing in a double overtime to host Salem. The next two weeks they won tournaments at Jackson and St. Francisville. In the second half of the season they methodically eliminated the surrounding opposition before the district tournament. 1966 Basketball Team LORAINE CARTER Junior Forward 3 Letters BELINDA SMITH Junior Forward 3 Letters GINGER CARTER Sophomore Guard 1 Letter TERESA BECKHAM Sophomore Guard 1 Letter SHARON GRAHAM Freshman Guard 1 Letter DEBORAH KEE Junior Guard 3 Letters DIANE McGRAW Junior Guard 3 Letters LAST MINUTE INSTRUCTIONS PAMELA CALVERT Junior Forward 3 Letters KATHY MOORE Freshman Guard 1 Letter 1966 Basketball Team The Ramblers started the 65-66 season with six returning lettermen.
