SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Dear Reveille: We, the class of 1950, started our school career at a very young age. Since then there have been many changes. Although a few of us have managed to come through. We are Mildred Anderson, Joe Bullock, Joe Bunch, Buddy Bass, Clytie Dooley, Mary Ann David, Sonny Rosso, Annie L. Mills, Joe Thompson, Ronnie Toler, Alex Ventress, Ann Catchings, Dorothy White, Philip Chaffin, Marilyn Hill, Margarot Williams, Grace Wallace, Lillian Koch, and Peter Stockett. Our first years were spent in trying to grasp the fundamentals for a foundation to later history. All through the grades we encomtored many ups and downs, includinr measles, mumps, and whooping cough. Although it was quite a struggle v.e made the eight grade up to standard. There were eighteen of us when we entered high school as poor green freshmen and who soent our first week banging into the wrong room in search of our classes. Our sponser for that year was Coach Huey Magers. Beginning our sophomore year we had five new students added to our class, they were Joe Bullock, Sonny Rosso, Tommy D'Aquilla, Joe Bunch, and Nita Walkor. Thomas Maher '«as with us for a short while but did not complete the year. We were sorry to lose Mary Catchings and Geraldine Teal, who both moved away. Richard Inman liked the sonhomore class so well he staved in it for another year. Ahl The Junior year, and we find that wo are a class of twenty. We presented an excellent Junior Play, For Pete's Sake , under the sponsorship of Miss Lora Jean Hillman. Shortly after the play, the Junior-Senior banquet followed. The theme of our banquet was the 49 ners, which was ri”en in the school cafeteria, decorated as a camping scene during the 41 gold rush. Patsy Berry and Mary Leake skipped a year to become dignified seniors. We lost Tommy D'Aquilla but Dorothy White, and Marilyn Hill, and Philip Chaffin joined us. As Seniors wo are well represented in school activities. Our class sponsor is Mr. Hugh McCraney, who has been the best yet. This year we olan to put on a senior play in order to raise funds to meet our needs. We hope to be the first class to graduate in our new school. Class officers are the following: President: J.L. Jones Vice-President: Philip Chaffin Sec-Treasurer: Margaret Williams Reporters: Grace Wallace and Mildred Anderson And now we've turned twelve well-worn leaves Each filled with joys and frowns, and tears: And Fate, the everlasting, sees What waits for us beyond these years.
