Chess Club officers are Dean Kelley, room captain, Lee Dodd, secretary- treasurer, Charlie Brown, room captain and Jim Buckland, president. 8th grader jim Groll patiently awaits Greg Dozier's next move. l l Photo, Chess Science Club provides the opa portunity for students to develop skills and aptitudes in various sci- entific fields. Under the co-spone sorship of'Mr. Howard Meeks and Mr. Bruce Ruster, members assist with Woodview's science fair, aid science teachers as lab assistants and help prepare the department's display case. Encouraged by Mr. Ron Schatz and Mr. Bill-Iones, Chess Club members further their knowledge ofthe game by weekly playing. This preparation is climaxed in the spring with a tournament and ban- quet given by the Irvington Kiwanis. Students interested in photog- raphy learn to take and develop prints with the help of their spon- sor, Mr. Dennis Kelly. The Photog- raphy Club raises money for sup- plies by selling athletic team pic- tures. Freshmen, Susie McLain and Desiree Dunn use the microscope to view slides

Premieres Focus on Dramatics and Stagecraft As one of the largest clubs at Woodvicw, Premieres club teaches the appreciation of all phases of dramatics. Interested students be- come involved in acting, stagecraft, dramatic reading and makeup ap- plication. 4 Under the direction ofMiss Linda Sannita, members visited lo- cal stage plays, participated in a special Christmas convocation and a spring production. Members of the organization are also responsi- ble for morning devotions. Persons responsible for morning devotions are, Debbie Clark, Kay Walker, and jean Stanek. Standing: Kevin Denbo, Terry Cool and Roger Schmelzer. During club meeting, students study films on pantomiming. Back stage before the special Christmas convocation, members of makeup crew apply grease paint to cast. 4, ..
