“After spilling three cups of coffee, knocking over all the mug books into the trash can, and forgetting my name twice, I decided that it was definitely time to take a vacation from my hectic police schedule. Staring out my office window, I saw my close contact, social worker Shirley Butson, getting out of her '67 VJJ. I watched amusingly as she trinned over the curb, bumped into a fire hydrant, and dropned her car keys. I wasn't the only one who needed a vacation! Within minutes I had 'conned' her into taking a week off from work. I put my Out-to-Lunch sign on my office door, fed my dog Rover, and we were off. Touched by waves of nostalgia, we found ourselves driving towards our old hometown, woodsville. we hadn't been there since high school graduation, ten years ago. Once we arrived, we discover- ed that a Country Club had been built on the site where the Community Field once stood. we thought it would be an excellent place to take our badly needed vacation. As we drove up to the front gate, we met Varilyn Blaisdell, who was engaged in an argument with Arnold wright and Robin Wheeler, used car dealers. It seemed that they were trying to tow Narilyn's beat-up white station wagon away with their HWe-have-the-right-wheels-for-youU tow truck. ' we asked Marilyn to tell us about the origin of the Country Club. She told us that it had been designed by famous architect Bonne Smith and constructed by the old Building Trades boys, Brian Blood, Robert Clifford, Kevin Fagnant, Jim Fitzgerald, Peter Gibson, and Frank Rodiman, who had forgotten to build a door and had to start over. We gazed at what was truly a work of artg for we had never seen a pear-shaped Country Club before. Upon entering the building, we saw Diana Caswell, Reba Evans, and Mary Lamarre behind the check-in desk. They had recently graduated from a ten-year program at Bruce Bishop's Secretarial School, where the motto, nBishops can make you a saintly secretaryn proved to be false, for the girls were employed as bag-boys. After checking into the Club, owner Peter Hall who was obviously very unset, greeted us. It seemed that Dana Smith .......... ... Yes! It was I, Dana Smith, the notorious villian on the loose. I escaped from psychologist Linda Hobinson's nStraight- Jacket Correctional Centern last night. When I left, Linda was still trying to diagnose Cindy Gibson, the neurotic, split- nersonality case, alias nEmi1yU, I was lucky enough to have snuck out in a garbage can, and I soon made my way to this Club, thinking I might be safe... Now, I thought, what evil could I do here? what's this? I soon realized that I was in the midst of a fashion show. Photo- granher Paul Tetreault was busily cranking his handle, as model- designer Nancy Bruckner was exhibiting her latest creation, while Donna Ingerson was trying unsuccessfully to describe it. After pinching Donna, I ran over and hid in the corner of the room, where international playboys, John Burrill and David Brown, were trying to hustle Sears and Roebuck models, Vicki Decato and Denise Chase. Vicki and Denise were more interested in the art display titled, Wfhe Blobn, created by Clint Boyce, Bruce Crawford, Barb Martin, and Eddie Mozekia.
