'Tx X O, HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF '46 K H Of all t g'boys ond glrls who b gan the flrst grade together 1n the 'ooostock Elercntary School, there ere fourteen who re C61V6d diplomas fron ood tock H1 h School These graduates who started together 1F 1935 were J ckle B rr Sue Fisher, Hazel Funk, Buddy POTTlSOU, Douglas Hottel, Phyllls Stoner, Jean Lambert, Frances Mum w, Alma Funk, Charles Boyer, Warren Clem,Ann Benchoff, Vary Ann olvertan and Sar ine Other members of the class have Jolned us t xarl us t1mfS dUTlFH thc past eleven ye rs Jean Sager Beverly L1Ch1lt8T, Naomi Carper, and Nadge Trlmble became members 1U the fifth grade Beverly moved from Jacksonville, Florlda, and Madge, from Harrisonburg, Virginla Betsy Preston, Pegsie Vm1tFOT6, Etbelyn Fultz,and Emma Lou Clark JO1H6d us in the seventh grade Betsy came from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Peggle, from Manassas, Virginia,and Ethelyn, from Franklln, West Virginia Ethel Greene, from Star Tannery, was the only one to JOIN us in our freshman year Pat O'Rourke, Goldie Irdin, Lee McLean, and V1rsin1a Cooley jO1U6 us in the thlrd year Pat came from N11k6S Barre, Penn ylvania, Goldie and Virginia, from Edinburg, Virg1nia, Lee, from Clsmont, Virginia As seniors Guy Branner, Kathy Mantz, Robert Peer,Frances Gwin, Frances Reynard, Mary Strosnider, and Robert Llnaweavcr jolned the Class of '46 Kathy came from Braddock Pennsylvania, Frances Guin, from North River, Vlrginiag Frances Reynard, fro Edinburg, V1PPlH1a We also welcomed to our class Robert Linaweaver, an ex serviceman, who served in the Euro pean theater of war We lost three classmates this year They were Billy Anderson, David Cunningham, and Harold Seal Th1s left a total of twenty six blPlS and nine boys to be graduated from our class In our freshman year at foodstock Hlgh School,we had about fourty students e chose Bobby Niller as our class president The boys and glrls were dlvlded Pi s Bowman was the sponsor of the glrls, and Mis Dennis was the sponsor of the boys Je spent an exciting year becoming accustomed to our high school life 'hen we were sophomores Ann Benchoff was chosen president Miss venger was the sponsor for the boys, and Mlss Crim,tbe spon sor of the girls Ann Benchoff was again chosen class presldent In our junior your iss Grabill was the sponsor of the entire class She directed our juD1OT play nhiss Jimmy' ue entertained the seniors by D picnic at Helsley's Bottom, As seniors, we had many new activities and privileges, Our officers were as follows: president- Ann Benchoff, vice president- Beverly Lichliter, secretary and treasurer- Jean Lambert, and re- porter- Lee McLean, HThe Haunted Chairn, our senior play, proved to be very successful, with the help of Miss Grabill as director, CContinued on the next page,l 5 X CJ is f f Cv , '- ,. f .tr .E ,,X .,r, t, Z J' ' P QS' -E .
