Making It Known She tells him He tells her She tells somebody else There’s just no cure. The words, they fly From lip to lip. The stories, they grow As the tongue does slip. How can we stop All this air polution? I believe silence Is the only solution! 9 •H.G.

MAKING THE BREAD Our parents want us to make our own money, ’stand on our own two feet, and become adults before we are ready to. We want to have fun, to put our own money into saving accounts, pick up the dinner tab, and buy what- ever we want without always having to use those familar words, Mom, can I have some money?” That’s nearly freedom at sixteen! But wait! What happens when you get home at 10:00 P.M., tired after a five hour shift, you drag yourself into your room, as you collapse, you see the pile of pencils and notebooks staring at you expec- tantly. They are not even touched. Ig- nored again and again. But what would I ever do without the ’’great American dollar? But now it’s too late. Guidence counselors, teachers, parents, schoolwork, piling up. Summer school? No way! Questions and more Questions. Help! An F?!! What did I do to deserve this? Was it worth it? Making the bread, being an adult at sixteen? Hmm We’ll all be in the working world sooner than we think. Then we can concentrate. Right now though, at least for a little while longer lets just be kids. T.C. 8

Making The Fun All work and no play? No way! Sometimes you’ve got to have some fun. You know how it is, you’ve studied for days, you’ve made it through mid-terms, and the weekend is finally here! Once in a while, well maybe more than just once in a while, Academy students find it necessary to let go, get rid of tension and stress that comes from term papers, algebra, and basketball practice. Get the picture? They say that your high school years are The Best of Times”. This may or may not always be true, but you must admit weren’t the dances fun? Class trips? And do you remember spirit week and homecoming? How about the time when you tried out for the play, or when you socred the winning point? Remember the slave auction and working at the haunted barn? Remember laughing with your friends at the lunch table, and lying in the sun on the lawn? Many of the things we'll remember about high school are all the fun things we did, and the good times we shared with our teachers and friends. So take a few minutes to relax, and remember the best of times. 10 C.C.
