1968 DEDICATION The world is not interested in the storms you encounter, but did you bring in the ship. —Anonymous We ore grateful for the opportunity graduation grants us to thank all those who have helped us along the way. We wish to present to you a special gift, Mr. Peck, in return for all the important ways you have help- ed our class. You have helped by encouraging and advising us as well as preparing us academically for our future. You have given the athletic teams enthusiasm, spirit, and know-how which have led them to victory. Thus, you have proven yourself a vital asset to Woodstock Academy through these things and many more. Therefore, we, the Class of 1968, wish to recognize your accomplishments by dedicating our yearbook to you. 2 HEADMASTER'S MESSAGE Many of you have undoubtedly been reading much of the some material that I have—much of it, as usual, criticizing the younger generation. I deem it a priv- ilege to use this space to say to you, the Class of 1968, that, contrary to what many would have you believe, your generation, and your class in particular, is indi- vidually and collectively one of the finest groups of young ladies and gentlemen that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. You are industrious, talent- ed and intelligent. You are well educated and well pre- pared to face the so-called cruel world. The fact of the matter is that you, individually and collectively, are about to step into the mainstream of the greatest, richest, most powerful country ever seen on the face of the earth. With people of your caliber to follow us, we of the older generation have nothing to fear. Face the future with happiness in your heart. You are privileged to be placed in circumstances of- fering the finest opportunities ever enjoyed by mankind. Our future will soon be in your hands and I, for one, am delighted with the prospects. Best of wishes and good luck to each one of you. MRS. JOAN ANGELO Mathematics MR. JOHN DURST Agriculture MRS. CECELIA INGRAHAM Physical Education I MR. KENNETH BEATSON Industrial Arts MR. Vx V O i£e e$xaA— —■Jl% X«aJ vL wa % A tXbu duSL — UmAi — People come from all over to see Hillandale Handweavers and our friends from Scotland say we hand-weave tweeds equal to any made in the world. Here, you will find hand craftsmanship at its best, nurtured in the joy of making something rare. Here, the mellow autumn colors of a New England country side are interwoven by hand into fabrics and blending cardigans of unusual character. Here, in the famous old carriage barn, where the sound of the hand thrown shuttle subdues the echo of the square-dance caller of a century ago, you will find today rare quality in a music of color. Some say too, that you sense the love of fine workmaoship and speak of a breath of peace drawn from the beauty of this spot. We invite you to come and enjoy it, now or later, and meanwhile if you wish, a card will bring yon examplet of what we do. You will also see PhotoMetriC, a new scientific method effecting many economies, enabling you to get, inexpensively, fine made-to- measure clothe —that fit.
