Dedication Mr. John Dillon: Because you are our friend . . whenever we need you encouraging, advising, and contributing your warm understanding Because you have guided us enthusiastically and often lent us the strength for success . . . Because you are a teacher who arouses in us a new faith in our ability, who instills a love of truth and honor, and who, by the sincere dedication of your abilities, has inspired those about you . . . We the class of 1965 are proud to dedicate The Spire to you with the following lines which have become as meaningful to us as they are to you . . . The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it. 2

Headmaster's Message As you embark on a new phase of life, 1 urge you to think, not of the problems and turmoil in the world, nor the heavy burdens and responsibili- ties on your shoulders, but rather of the exciting age in which you live. Think of the amazing things that are happening in the world. Think of the amazing things that can and will happen tomorrow and in years to come. What contributions can you make? You live in the wealthiest, most powerful country in the world. The possibilities for a good, full, rewarding life are almost limitless. With your energy and enthusiasm, the alternatives are limited only by your imagina- tion. Proceed with the realization that no other generation in the history of mankind has had the freedom that you have to do the things you want, and think about what part you can play in improving the world in which you are so fortunate to live. 4
