Posters, banners, and badges decorated the school during the campaign for Woodruff's 1958- 1959 president. On February 18, the juniors made ten nom- inations. These were reduced to five by a faculty committee. On Monday, March 10, campaign speeches were made in an assembly and voting took place during lunch hours. Bill Sheppard and Phil Owen came out on top, and as a result of the final balloting on March 12, Bill will be president and Phil will be vice president next year. - f 5 , ' I Z' 5 I !3lf j31E f if 'Nil A ' . 5 V ' -. wr...-we B , - , 5 Q of - F , . Per was brought to Peoria by the combined efforts of the Amer- ican Field Service and our Woodruff Student Council. All of the students who got to know Per will be sorry to see him return to his native Norway. The student body hopes he enjoyed his year as much as we have enjoyed having him. This summer our own school will be represented in a foreign country by Dennis Gouran, a junior. Dennis was chosen from a list of applicants from the junior class. The applications were viewed by a fac- ulty committee, the outstanding applicants were then questioned as to what they would do in particular sit- uations. The four top applications were then sent to New York for viewing by the American Field Service. Well, Dennis, Congratulations. Oh! and bon voyage!
