Q X X 'Az W Thanks to the Mathematics Department, we always have one of the most beautiful Christmas trees in the city. Each math student makes a geometric star of colored paper, sprinkles it with glitter, and hangs it on the tree which stands in the front hall for all to enjoy. One of the most important of our Christmas projects is providing baskets of food for needy families. Each home room fills a basket and at the close of school just before vacation these baskets are delivered by the boys of the Lettermen's Club. The Music Department added to the holiday spirit by presenting an evening concert and Contata The Song of Christmas directed by Mrs. lauderbaugh and Mrs. Szepessy, Some students consider the Christmas formal dance the highlight of the season. This year the dance was called Eskimo Land' and decorations were eskimos, snow- men, and igloos. The dance was held at the Hotel Pere Marquette. REGISTRATION Woodruff is one of the few high schools in the United States that use a college system of registration. Students are allowed to choose their schedule subjects, hours, and teachers. Any prob- lems regarding schedules are referred to the respec- tive class counselors. Counselors also O.K. the schedule cards after they are signed. In most schools, the classes and teachers are assigned by principals. The student body at Woodruff should feel very priviledged to be able to register in this way. l K Students line up to get their cards before going into the gym.
